Project Plan/Storyline
The name of the "movie" is going to be Her Slow Disappearance. The story will revolve around a teenage girl named Sarah. Sarah is experiencing severe depression and to quell all of her intense emotions she submerges herself in drugs and alcohol, however the drugs will be more prevalently shown in the 2 minute movie beginning.
Story Board:
| First 3 panels depict the opening scene where Sarah is discovered dead in the shower after overdosing while panels 4-6, follow the beginning of a flash back of how the audience got to that moment with her lying on the shower floor. |
Panels 7-10 show Sarah discovering her usual drug ration is empty, in these scenes it will be vital for Rachael Kohler, the actor who plays Sarah, to show the extreme distress that Sarah feels in this moment of uncertainty. Following along to panels 11-18, you will see boxes either highlighted in pink or orange. The two colors represent different ending/storylines me and my partner were discussing. |
| The pink storyline would follow Sarah immediately messaging her dealer and scheduling a meetup where she would resupply her stock and then start her downwards spiral towards the opening scene of her death. However! after some back and forth me and my partner realized that in order to be able to incorporate all the aspects we wanted for those 2 minutes we've been allotted, we would have to go with the second option, orange. |
| Panels 19-24 move forward with the orange storyline where she frantically gets up from bed and begins hurriedly searching through the bathroom and all of its cabinets for hidden pills or other drugs she left behind before. This is where the camera shots continue as a back and forth between Sarah and her mothers perspective of events. While Sarah is searching the bathroom, her mother is in her room finding the empty bag of cocaine left mistakenly out in the open on her bed. Panel 24 shows the initiation of what will be the confrontation between Sarah and her mother as they both walk out of the rooms. |
Panels 25-30 depict the back and forth POV shots between Sarah and her mother, their faces showing a drop in their facial expression as one realizes she may have been exposed, and the other realizes her daughter may be a drug addict.
Conclusion:
I hope this intrigues you a bit into what the movie will show and especially what it could become if an entire production was created. We want these 2 minutes to leave the audience wanting more, and I cant wait to see and show the final product!
